In a wedding function which I attended a couple of years ago, I saw for the first time a camera mounted on an equipment known as the "Drone" taking photographs. The machine was flying at a height of about 10 feet, moving all over the hall and taking pictures of those present. It was amazing to watch. A person who was sitting next to me told me that it was a novel device also known as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which could be used for many more jobs besides taking photographs of people in public gatherings. For instance, with a little modification, it could be employed in a disaster situation, to carry and deliver food and other supplies to people caught up in an inaccessible spot as a result of floods, accidents etc. It could be used for transporting urgently needed medicines for treating seriously ill persons in a distant hospital or carry and deliver a human organ urgently required for a transplant surgery.
